Get Ready European Trainers, Safari Zone Events Are Almost Here!
Back in July is when news first broke of Pokémon GO Safari Zones coming to Europe. It has been a while since we have gotten any updates on these events, with the exception of the first two events being postponed. 🙁
After the epic fail that was Pokémon GO Fest Chicago, the Pokémon GO Team decided to postpone the first two Safari Zone events as a precaution. They wanted to be better prepared for the volume of Trainers accessing the servers at one time.
There were just so many issues at Pokémon GO Fest, like the game freezing, lagging and just not being able to sign into the game at all. Although Niantic and the Pokémon GO Team tried very hard to find a resolution, they were not able to save the event.
They quickly realized that the servers as well as the cell towers could not handle the shear volume of players, and decided to take some extra time to fix this problem before the next event. This is why the first two Safari Zone events were postponed.
I know all the Trainers out there in Europe must have been bummed out about the push back of the events, but it’s better safe than sorry. I mean do you really want to get a ticket for a Safari Zone event and then not be able to participate or get any of the Pokémon or items you were promised? I didn’t think so.
Luckily for you guys, the wait is almost over. The first Pokémon GO Safari Zone event is scheduled to take place next weekend! How exciting is that?! If you want to see all of the Pokémon GO Safari Zones Event dates, just check out the table below.
If you haven’t already made plans with your friends to attend one of these Safari Zone events, then what are you waiting for? You don’t want to miss these epic events or all the exclusive Pokémon you can catch during these special events.
What To Expect At Each Pokémon GO Safari Zone Event
It wouldn’t be a Pokémon GO Event if you didn’t get some awesome goodies while attending. Trainers at each Safari Zone Event will receive a special in-game medal and exclusive 2 KM Eggs from the various PokéStops located at each of the shopping centers.
During the event, Lures will be activated at every PokéStop in the shopping center so Trainers can catch Pokémon together. Some difficult to find Pokémon such as Chansey, Kagaskhan and Larvitar will appear at the Safari Zones.
This is a perfect opportunity to catch some Pokémon you weren’t able to catch before due to location restrictions. Time to fill those gapping holes in your PokéDex while you can. You may not get another chance to catch these region specific Pokémon so don’t miss out.
There will be a few more surprises besides hard to find Pokémon, so keep an eye out. If you are lucky you may even run into a Shiny Pikachu or a Shiny Magikarp. You could also come across the various forms of the Pokémon Unown. This is a special opportunity to catch some super rare Pokémon!
Since things will be a bit crazy at the shopping center locations during the Safari Zone Events, all Gym and Raid Battles will be disabled until the event ends. This will prevent any crashing of the Gyms, Raid Battles freezing or Raid Bosses breaking out of Premier Balls.
So if you were planning on taking on some Raid Bosses or taking over a Gym while at the Safari Zones, then you are out of luck. Sorry to rain on your parade, but it’s probably for the best. We all saw first hand how crazy these Pokémon GO Events can be, and we don’t want any more unhappy Trainers.
Once you make it into the Safari Zone you can meet up with friends and hang out in the Team Lounges. You will probably make a bunch more friends and find more Trainers that are on your team. Go Team Instinct! 🙂
All Safari Zone attendees will receive a Trainer Kit for joining in on the day’s Pokémon-catching activities. You can also do some shopping while you are at the mall and take advantage of some very special offers extended to all Pokémon GO Trainers at select stores. Pokémon and shopping!? Sounds like a dream come true, right!?
Pretty soon Trainers will be able to reserve tickets to each of the Pokémon GO Safari Zone Events taking place next Saturday on September 16th. These tickets are free and nontransferable, so you don’t need to scrounge up any money to attend this event.
All Trainers who are claiming the tickets for the event must be at least 13 years of age and be present with a valid photo ID. At the event, the person who has claimed the tickets, will present their photo ID in order to receive a QR code that is required to participate in the Safari Zone Events.
In order to secure a ticket for a Safari Zone Event, Trainers must visit their local shopping center’s Facebook page for information on how to reserve tickets. Trainers who wish to attended the up coming event on September 16th can checkout the shopping centers Facebook page now for instructions on securing tickets. The events in October will be posted to their respective shopping centers Facebook pages as the events get closer.
There is only a limited amount of tickets available for each Safari Zone event so reserve yours before they are all gone. If for some reason, you cannot secure a ticket in time, you can still participate in the event in other ways.
Trainers will be able to discover and catch some of the Pokémon found at the Pokémon GO Safari Zones Events throughout the city where the event is located. You won’t be able to get every exclusive item and Pokémon available to those attending the event, but you at least get some rare Pokémon that you will need for your PokéDex.
That is all the updates I have at the moment for the Safari Zone events in Europe. More information regarding tickets for the events will be available in the near future. As always, as soon as I hear word of any updates you guys will be the first ones I tell.
Stay tuned for more information as it is revealed by the Pokémon GO Team. In the meantime, start gathering up your friends and start making some plans to attend an awesome Safari Zone Event near you. Don’t forget to have fun along the way.
Until next time……get Safari ready!
