The Legendary Beast Trio Is Here!
If you haven’t already seen one of these Pokémon show up at a nearby gym for a Raid Battle, here is the deal. Pokémon GO has released the Legendary Beasts into the world!
Lately, it seems like the hunt for Legendary Pokémon in Pokémon GO has been getting a little hectic. Everyone has been trying to catch Lugia, Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres before they are gone.
Trainers had till the end of August to catch all of these Legendary Bird Pokémon. I don’t know about you, but I just never found the time to go out and catch them.
Even if I had had the time to hunt down these Birds, I don’t think I would have been able to get enough people together to actually take any of them down. It’s been pretty hard to find people in the area that are available for Raid Battles.
The times seem to be pretty sporadic and a lot of people are at work or are stuck someplace else and can’t make it. I wish we could get a more advanced warning before a Raid Battle happens and who the Raid Boss will be.
This would definitely help trainers plan ahead so they can take on some of these Legendary Pokémon and also add them to their PokéDex. Maybe one day this will be implemented, but for now we will have to make due.
So if you haven’t had a chance to catch all of the Legendary Birds yet, you may have a harder time finding them now that the Legendary Beasts are on the prowl. I have seen the Birds pop up here and there, but it’s not nearly as often as it was, so it may be hard to find them now.
Ready Or Not, Johto’s Legendary Beast Trio Are Roaming Nearby.
On August 31st Raikou, Entei and Suicune were released into the Pokémon GO world. They will be available through September 30th, so start preparations now. You don’t want to miss out on these awesome Legends.
Unfortunately, these Pokémon will only be available in specific areas of the world for a set amount of time. You will not be able to go out and catch all three in a single month.
These Legendary Beasts will behave similarly to how they did in the Pokémon Gold & Silver games for the Gameboy Color. In these games, they would roam around and would not be in one set place.
Just like in Johto, Raikou, Entei and Suicune will not be found in one set place, at least not for long anyways. You will have to catch what is available in your area that month and then wait till the following month for the Beasts to change location so you can catch the next one.
The first wave of the Legendary Beasts will take place now unitil September 30th. The locations for each of these Pokémon will be as follows:
- Raikou, the Electric-Type Legendary Beast, will be found in South and North America.
- Entei, the Fire-Type Legendary Beast, will be found in Europe and Africa.
- Suicune, the Water Type-Legendary Beast, will be found in the Asia-Pacific Region.
On September 30th, the location of the Legendary Trio will change. They will all shift to a location that they we not available in before. You will have until October 31st to catch the new Beast available in your area.
Once October 31st comes around, the Beasts will roam to the last remaining location. I’m guessing this last location availability will last till November 30th since there seems to be a pattern here.
You will only be able to catch these three Legendary Beasts while they are available in your region and only for that limited window of opportunity. If you miss out on one, you will have a sad empty space in your PokéDex, so don’t be like me and wait until it’s too late. 🙁
Everyone should be all trained up and ready to go from all the Raid Battles you had with the Legendary Birds last month. You may have even found a great group of friends to help you with Raid Bosses. The only thing you may need is some type of Pokéballs, so stock up, get out there and Raid!
Exclusive Raid Battle Field Tests Coming Soon!
The last time Pokémon GO released an update there was talk about Exclusive Raid Battles. These are special Raid Battles that you can only take part in if you receive an Invitation. You have to have recently taken down a Raid Boss to be sent an Invitation to an Exclusive Raid Battle.
Since that update, it seems as though Pokémon GO has decided to change the name to EX Raid Battle instead of Exclusive Raid Battle. From now on I will refer to them as EX Raid Battles, but they are the same thing.
EX Raid Battles have not yet been rolled out to the public, but field tests will be coming soon. The Pokémon GO Team will be sending out EX Raid Passes as early as the beginning of September.
These special Raid Battles will become available at select Gym locations in an attempt to test out the features and work out any bugs in the system. You could be one of the lucky trainers that gets to test out this awesome new battle type, so be prepared.
In the mean time, the Pokémon GO Team will be going over some previous data pertaining to EX Raid Battles and will use this to further test and hone the battle experience as they prepare for the field testing.
Trainers who are chosen to take part in the EX Raid Battle Field Tests will be able to submit feedback to the Pokémon GO Team. With this valuable data, the Pokémon GO Team will make periodic adjustments to EX Raid eligibility requirements, frequency, times, locations and durations of these battles.
The main goal of this field testing is to make EX Raid Battles engaging, rewarding and of course fun for all Trainers who enjoy Raid Battles. Slowly, more and more Gyms will have EX Raid Battles, until testing is complete and the feature is rolled out globally.
Good luck to all those trainers who are chosen for the EX Raid Battle Field Testing, and make sure to leave honest, uncensored feedback. We want to make sure everything is taken care of so everyone can enjoy this new battle style and catch a Mewtwo.
Pokémon GO Updates for Android and iOS.
Pokémon GO is currently in the process of rolling out another software update. Make sure to download the newer version , so you don’t have any issues while playing the game.
Android users can download version 0.73.1 from the Google Play Store and iOS users can download version 1.43.1 from the App Store. There are a few issues that were fixed with this update, so it is important to keep your game up to date.
The ability for Trainers to spin the Photo Disc at a Gym using the Pokémon GO Plus accessory has been added to the game. Trainers now have the ability to view the number of Trainers entered and preparing for a Raid Battle before using the Raid Pass. This one is awesome, because you won’t waste a Raid Pass just because no one else showed up to help battle the Raid Boss.
Trainers can now search though their Pokémon’s moves using the Pokémon Collection screens search functionality. Just type in the @ symbol and the name of the move and all Pokémon with that move will pop up. There was a bug causing Raid Bosses to always break free from the last Premier Ball. This has been fixed with the new update.
Another issue that was resolved was the inability for Trainers to see that they have received double XP from Raid Battles while using a Lucky Egg. You will now be able to see the doubled XP earned during a Raid Battle, that way you know you definitely got all of you XP. A few other various bug fixes were included in the new update as well.
I know that was a ton of information to take in, but it was all important so I had to share it all with you guys. All you need to do now is make sure you have the latest Pokémon GO update, stock up on Pokéballs, gather your friends, and go out and find a Legendary Beast to take on. Good luck out there Trainers!
If you have any questions or anything to add, leave a comment below. I would love to hear from you guys and gals. 🙂
Until next time…..Conquer the Raid Battles!
